Balvant Parekh Centre for General Semantics and Other Human Sciences would be happy to offer life-membership to those who are interested in reading, academic events and scholarly discussions. The fee for life membership is Rs. 1000. The life-members can access our library well-stocked with books on diverse areas and will get a copy each of the Centre’s Annual Report and Anekaant: A Journal of Polysemic Thought. We inform the members about our programs and publications regularly.

 

The Centre’s library has a spacious reading room, a growing collection of books and also subscribes to many journals. The library has general and specialized sections. Books from the general section comprising fiction, poetry, biography, autobiography, etc. could be borrowed by life members who are residents of Baroda; each member is entitled to borrow one book at a time for a period of maximum two weeks on payment of Rs. 250 as refundable deposit. Books from the specialized section are to be read in the library and cannot be borrowed.

Membership Fee can be paid through a bank draft/ cheque favoring BALVANT PAREKH CENTRE FOR GS & OHSpayable at Baroda (please note that the issuing branch and drawee branch should be the same)You may mail the Membership Form and Cheque/ Draft to the Centre’s office at the following address:

If you are a resident of Baroda, you may remit the membership fee directly at our office. If you wish to do a bank transfer, do get in touch with Mr. Ajay Menon, the fiscal and admin officer (menonajay1953@gmail.com).

Please note that the Centre does not allow Xeroxing of books of its Library since most of the books are paperback editions. Photocopying, besides being a violation of copyright laws, causes damage to books, especially to the binding. We regret the inconvenience.
